Mission Statement of Our Church
We are called to open our arms and hearts to all in the name of Jesus Christ in order to share and grow in faith together.
“Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth. Worship the LORD with gladness; come into his presence with singing.” (Psalm 100:1-2)
“This is the day that the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” (Psalm 118:24)
We gather to worship seeking to encounter God in Christ. God uses worship to transform lives, heal wounded souls, renew hope, shape decisions, provoke change, inspire compassion, and bind people to one another.
The word passionate expresses an intense desire, an ardent spirit, strong feelings, and the sense of heightened importance. Our Passionate Worship Team works with the pastor to make each worship experience the most important hour of the week.
Holy Communion is offered the first Sunday of the month. Communion is open to all who wish to partake in the United Methodist Church.
Acolytes have an important role at beginning and end of the worship service. The candles are lit on the altar prior to the service. When the service ends, the flame is transferred to the candle lighter then the candle is extinguished the light is carried out signifying carrying the light of Christ into the world. Anyone in grade 4 through adult may be an acolyte. Tell an usher if you wish to volunteer.
Communion Stewards prepare the altar and the elements for communion. This is a monthly position you may wish to serve in.
Greeters are part of our welcoming team. They are ambassadors of Christ, offering a smile, and an outstretched hand welcoming persons to Sunday morning worship and fellowship time afterwards.
Liturgists assist in leading the congregation in worship by sharing announcements, reading litanies and scripture as outlined by the pastor.
Music ministry is a vital part of worship. We have an adult choir which sings the first and second Sunday of the month, a children’s choir sings the third Sunday and a contemporary music team shares their talents the forth Sunday. See music ministry for further information.
Multi-Media Team members assist in regulating the sound system. We need volunteers to share in a new ministry to videotape the service and upload it to the web so we may share our worship with those who cannot be present.
Ushers welcome persons into our sanctuary, offer a warm welcome and provide individuals with a bulletin. They may also assist people to their seat. Ushers collect the morning offering and take on the role of acolytes when youth are not available.
Handicap accessible elevator and space in pews is provided for those with wheelchairs and walkers.
Large Print Bulletins and Bibles
